Buyers seeing higher prices this pumpkin season


From KEYE, October 21, 2008...

October is here, and that means that bright orange pumpkins can be seen in fields and on doorsteps around Central Texas.

Pumpkin buyers will be met with higher prices around the state; pumpkins are averaging about 13 cents a pound, while the average price over the last 10 years was six cents a pound.

Pumpkin growers are seeing a diminished supply, partially because there were heavy rains later in the growing season.
