Review: Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill, Cedar Park
From Impact Newspaper February, 2008...
In 1989, three entrepreneurs founded the restaurant Z’Tejas in an old Victorian house on Austin’s Sixth Street. The menu is influenced by their southern roots and combines the flavors of the southwest, Texas and Louisiana. Today, the franchise has 10 locations across the western United States, including three in the Austin area.
Z’Tejas opened its newest location at Avery Ranch Nov. 12. When you arrive, the first things you notice are the impeccable patios and outdoor fireplaces.

The Llano Bald Eagles Will Be Fledging Soon
Some of you may already know about it, but for others of you this might be an interesting revelation. Every winter for quite a few years, a pair of bald eagles have nested just outside of Llano. The Highway Deoartment has created a turnout on Hwy 29 where people can stop and take a look.
The chicks usually fledge and leave the nest in early March, so if you would like to see this rare sight, you might want to make a trip up there in the next few weeks.
This year there are two chicks, and they are quite visible from the visitor's turnout. Here is a site that pictorially documents the eagles every year. You can see for yourself that the young'uns are getting pretty big.
We failed to get up there last year, and have yet to make it up there this year. But in years past, Berna and I have made several trips. We took Bailey once and she loved it. But the one who really got a kick out of it was Berna's mom!
The nest is on the south side of Hwy 29 about half-way between the Buchanan dam and the town of Llano. From the intersection of FM 1431 & Hwy 29 near the town of Buchanan, go about 6.5 miles west on 29.

New Issues With Suddenlink
We now have one more reason to dump Suddenlink in favor of AT&T DSL (see related story). This morning I sent an email to Berna (at her Suddenlink email account) and it almost immediately bounced with "Unknown recipient." I then tried to retrieve email from my Suddenlink email account and got "Invalid login or password."
I called Suddenlink tech support to report that their email system was down. "No, it seems to be just fine," I was told. When I told him what I had just experienced, he asked my permission to look at my account. "Hmmmm... I don't see that you have any email accounts."
To make a long story short, Suddenlink has somehow destroyed all three of our email accounts, they have no explanation how it happened, and nine hours later we still have no email accounts. And, oh, by the way (I was told) any email that was in your Suddenlink inbox will undoubtedly be lost.
We have been using AT&T on a trial basis. Now, I think there is no doubt that the trial is over and Suddenlink is out'a here.
